UNE Steps up fundraising efforts to make college of Dental Medicine a Reality

On November 2, Maine residents voted yes in support of Question #2, which allows the issuance of a $5 million bond to increase access to dental care in Maine. This is in response to the well-documented critical shortage of dentists in Maine and northern New England, and the lack of a dental school in the region.
The University of New England (UNE) plans to establish a College of Dental Medicine that will address both access to care as well as the need for more dentists in the state.  In November 2008, UNE’S board of trustees approved the academic program for the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, and charged the university with securing the necessary funds to launch the college.

The Center for Grieving Children to sponsor the AFSP National Survivors of Suicide Day

The Center for Grieving Children is sponsoring The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) National Survivors of Suicide Day.  This event will provide an opportunity for individuals who have lost someone they know to suicide to connect with others who have experienced a similar loss. It is designed to be a day of healing, empowerment, support, and sharing. It is a day for remembering those we love who have died.

Every person who dies by suicide leaves behind survivors --- loved ones left shocked, grieving, and struggling to understand and cope with their heartbreaking loss. Those left behind often struggle with all of those “Why…?" and “What if…?” questions.

Event for Maine Children's Cancer Progam

Tara Travis is a Saco paper crafts business owner who will participateis in a ladies' night event,  whose proceeds will benefit Maine Children's Cancer Program.  .  The ladies will be able to indulge themselves, and while participating, make a donation to an admirable cause.

I am looking for some press for this event, but more than a simple mention in a community calendar…perhaps an interview prior to the event so that your community can know about it and hear someone explain how the evening’s events will take place.

I have included the event information below and would appreciate you taking a look at it.  If this is an event you would like to support, please contact Tara at 207-590-8631 or tara@stampwithtara.com.

Thank you for your time.  I hope you judge this a worthy cause and help Tara and the other participating businesses promote their efforts.
