Photo Gallery | 2 arrested in Waterboro burglary

 

On Wednesday (12/05/12) at approximately 3:20 PM, York County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a residence in Waterboro for a report of a residential burglary that had just occurred. The homeowner reported that he had returned home to find two male subjects fleeing from his residence. He quickly discovered that his residence had been burglarized and 10 handguns were stolen, eight of those firearms were reported as loaded. Deputies arrived and summoned the assistance of a Maine State Police K9 unit to aid in locating the suspects. Trooper Matt Williams and his K9 partner "Landy" arrived and a K9 track was initiated.   Landy found the handguns secreted in a nearby wooded area.  Landy also flushed out two subjects who were hiding a short distance away.   York County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Travis Wakefield, 22, of Lyman and Nathan Desfosses, also 22, of Shapleigh.  Both have been charged with Burglary, Class B and are being held at the York County Jail on a $10,000 bail.   Both are scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow at Biddeford District Court. Wakefield, who is on probation for unrelated crimes, is also being held on a violation of probation. Investigation will continue and more arrests are anticipated.
