MODIFIED DOWNEASTER SERVICE PLANNED FOR MONDAY, August 29

MONDAY, August 29, 2011: Because the impacts of Irene likely won't be known until the storm has passed and the railroad has been inspected and cleared to resume train operations, a limited bus schedule has been put into place to serve Downeaster passengers on Monday morning.

Bus transportation operating on the schedule of Trains 680, 681, 682 and 683 will be available between these stations only:

ยท Portland Transportation Center, the Wells Transportation Center and Boston North Station.

Exeter, NH Train Station and Boston North Station.
No morning service will be provided to or between the following stations: Old Orchard Beach, Saco, Dover, Durham, Haverhill, Woburn.

We are hopeful that Amtrak Downeaster TRAINS will be able to operate on a full schedule beginning on Monday afternoon.  Trains 684, 685, 686, 687, 688 and 689 are expected to operate as usual serving all stations.   Please visit www.Amtrak.com or call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) and check TRAIN STATUS for updates as they are available.

No Downeaster service is available on Sunday, August 28, 2011.
