Alan Casavat in the running for mayor of Biddeford

Alan Casavant, a resident who lives on Meetinghouse Road in Biddeford, turned in 175 voter signatures to the Biddeford city clerk.  In doing so, Casavant announced that he is an official candidate to be the next mayor of Biddeford.

“I’m all in,” Casavant said. “I’ve been doing a listening tour for about two weeks now, and the feedback is overwhelming. Voters want a change in direction, and a return to more professional execution.”

Casavant’s web site is at www.CasavantForMayor.com. He has immersed himself in social media, having opened a Twitter account, created a Facebook page, and a YouTube channel. He says it’s clear voters want better dialogue with their elected leaders.

Casavant has two opponents, Ryan Gavin and current mayor Joanne Twomey, recognized throughout the state for her ardent lobbying to bring casino-style gambling to Biddeford.

Alan Casavant is also a member of the Maine House of Representatives, representing part of Biddeford (District 137.)
