Search resumes for missing men in Kennebunkport

Update: Due to the impending storm, search efforts have been suspended until any new information comes in.  Wednesday's search of the water yielded no new signs of Wells or Wright.

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Maine Marine Patrol and Kennebunkport police department continued the search Wednesday for two students, missing since last Thursday morning.

Two boats, an airplane, and the Maine State Police dive team were being used in Wednesday's search for 21-year-old Zachery Wells of Burlington, Vt., and 23-year-old Prescott Wright of Barnstable, Mass.

Officials used sonar equipment and members of the State Police dive team to search the water near Goat Island Light -- where articles of clothing were found on Monday.

They were last seen drinking beer with friends a week ago at Wells' home about a mile from the Cape Porpoise pier. They both are students at The Landing School, a boat building and yacht design school in Arundel.

Police say Wells and Wright could have walked to the island during low tide.  They also could have taken a boat, but no boats have been reported missing.
