Diver's body recovered off Kennebunk
KENNEBUNK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The body of a missing diver has been recovered from the ocean off Kennebunk.
The U.S. Coast Guard says the man was 25 years old and from Massachusetts. He was staying with some friends in Kennebunk and went out on a boat about 5:30 Thursday night. He was doing some diving off a buoy when he went down and did not come up.
The Coast Guard launched a search and was joined by the Maine Marine Patrol and state police divers. The man's body was recovered just before 8 p.m. Thursday.
His name has not been released.
