Mustaches in May to raise money for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program

Mustaches in May to raise money for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program

An all star lineup of Sea Dogs players are growing Mustaches in May to raise money for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.  Dr. Lou Jacobs, a Portland Chiropractor, gained national recognition as the founder of Mystache Fights Cancer, a cancer fighting fund raising event for local organizations. He is also the director of the New England Bureau of the American Mustache Institute.  Dr. Jacobs says "The mustache revival in the state of Maine has never been stronger and there’s never been a better time to use your ‘stache for a good cause."   The doctor will be throwing the first pitch at the Sea Dogs game and showing his support for the players at 1pm on Sunday May 29, 2011 against rivals the Trenton Thunder (Yankees).

Sea Dog players are taking pledges and a $15.00 donation gets you a free ticket and a family donation of $50.00 gets you five tickets and a picture with your favorite player.

Keller Williams Realty Annual Red Day "GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE" Campaign

Keller Williams Realty Annual Red Day "GIVE WHERE YOU LIVE" Campaign is focusing on supplying much needed food to our local food bank for all Cumberland and York County pantries to draw from. With some pantries closing, children losing their free lunch programs and the rise of gas and food prices, Keller Williams Agents will be having a food drive to fill a 14 foot Good Shepherd's food truck on Thursday, May 12, 2011 between the hours of 10am and 2pm in the parking lot at 50 Sewall Street, Portland. Please bring your non-perishable donations to Keller Williams Realty on or before May 12th to help fill this truck for your community or call the number below and we will send a Keller Williams Agent to pick up your donation! Alpha One-Adaptive Driving Education Fundraiser

Alpha One-Adaptive Driving Education Fundraiser

Alpha One is launching our first fundraising initiative to enhance our Adaptive Driving Education program and we are looking for your help.

This program is one of our oldest, and has been offering driver evaluation, assistive driving technology consultation and driver education and training since the early ‘80s. The ADE Program has helped hundreds of Maine consumers to become licensed drivers and enjoy the freedom of mobility

Our goal is to lower the overall cost of delivering this valuable service to Maine people who want to get back on the road again, by soliciting support from individuals and businesses who share our desire to help others remain independent.

Donations from foundations and individuals will provide for the purchase and adaptation of a new van and the operation of the program over the next five years.
