What's the buzz?

Everyone is buzzing about the movie “Queen of the Sun: What Are The Bees Telling Us?”

Don’t miss a screening of this ground breaking film that takes us on a journey through the catastrophic disappearance of bees and the mysterious world of the beehive. This engaging and ultimately uplifting film weaves an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from around the world.

“Queen of the Sun” will be presented Friday, October 18th, at Lincoln Middle School in Portland. The movie showing is hosted by Ferry Beach Ecology School, Whole Foods, and The Honey Exchange and is a fundraiser to support Lincoln Middle School students’ participation in Ferry Beach Ecology School environmental education programs.

In addition to the screening of “Queen of the Sun,” there will be honey tastings, raffle drawings, free healthy snacks and Maple’s Organic Gelato. Doors open at 6:15 pm and the movie begins promptly at 7pm.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 18. Space is limited so advance ticket purchase is suggested. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/472106 or at Lincoln Middle School or The Honey Exchange both on Stevens Avenue in Portland.
