Healthy Habits Youth Triathlon Series Kicks off on Sunday
Biddeford, ME (May 20, 2011) – On Sunday, May 22, 2011, the Healthy Habits Youth
Triathlon Series 2011 season will officially get underway at the Northern York County Family
YMCA. The race will consist of an indoor pool swim, and outdoor bike and run.
Sunday’s race will get underway at 9 a.m. Media are encouraged to attend.
The Healthy Habits Youth Triathlon Series is all about kids. Now in its second year, it is a fun way
to introduce the sport of triathlon to children in Maine. The goal is to teach children that exercise is
crucial for good health. Eating right, drinking plenty of water, and getting enough exercise are
Healthy Habits that organizers for the initiative hope to instill in the children participating in this
raceseries. The events are open to all children ages 5-15.
The series is comprised of three races. The first is in Biddeford, the second is in Sanford and the
third is in Freeport.
Distances to be completed on May 21 at the Northern York County Family Y on May 22:
