Children's Museum - Auditions for Troupe Auditions - Youth Voices on Stage and Kids on the Block - Children ages 11 through 17 3;30 - 5pm FMI visit http://www.kitetails.org/theatre/auditions/

Children's Museum - First Safety Friday 10:30am.  Join to meet Portland's firefighters and to sit on a real fire truck.

Children's Museum $1 First Friday - 5pm - 8pm.  To serve the community, the Children's museum is open the first Friday of every month from 5pm - 8pm for only $1 per person.

First Friday Art Walk - 5pm - 8pm - Join for a free self guided tour of local art galleries, art studios, museums, and alternative art venues on the first Friday of every month. Downtown Portland FMI visit http://www.firstfridayartwalk.com/

Saco River Winter Market - Saco Island behind Run of the Mill 9am - 12:30pm

Saco Native Zach Zaitlin will perform at Slainte Wine Bar and Lounge in Portland at 9pm with Boston-area artist Fishing the sky -

American Red Cross Blood Drive - Biddeford Walmart 8am to 1pm

Saturday Morning Kid's Club - 10:30am Edith Belle Libby Memorial Library, OOB - Activities include crafts and games for children preschool age and older - FMI 934-4351

Saturday Drop in Crafts - 10am - noon Dyer Library, Saco.  Simple projects for artists of all ages.

On View at the Dyer Library - Photographs by Sara Picard - January 1 through January 31.  Sara Picard is a local photographer and student specializing in still life images in color, black and white and sepia.

Saco Museum - Art and Industry - ongoing - come see the history of the Saco River Valley as you never have before, with art, historical artifacts, computer activities and hands on exhibits for all ages.  This exhibit is a part of a multi-venue exhibition of local history funded by a reserve America Grant.

The Promise of Pepperell: Beyond the Bricks - 5pm - 9pm   North Dam Mill 5$ admission at the door Historical Storytelling Tours begin every 20 minutes! Presented by the BHS National Honor Society and BHS Drama Club in association with the Biddeford Mills Museum, a nonprofit organization.

Sunday - January 8th

Hoop Shoot - 10am - Saco Parks and Rec gym on Franklin Street.  Boys and girls ages 8 to 13 are invited to participate.  There is no fee and trophies will be awarded to the top three contestants in each of the three age groups.  Winners will be invited to participate in the district competition the following weekend.  FMI call 229-4242
