Volunteers Needed for Local Triathlon!
Volunteers Needed for Local Triathlon!

On August 26, 2012 Revolution3 Triathlon in partnership with OOB365, The Town of Old Orchard Beach, and The Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce, will launch a new Olympic and Half Rev race in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Pro and age group athletes will be competing in both distances for a cash purse of $25,000.00. Currently there are over 1000 athletes registered. Will Thomas of Tri-Maine will be the local race director and the local charity partner of the race is sheJams, a local woman’s club created to foster an atmosphere for woman to get healthy in a non competitive setting while raising funds for Maine Cancer Foundation.

Volunteers are needed to help make this race a success. It will take more than 300 volunteers to ensure the athletes' comfort and safety during the race. Volunteering is not an extensive commitment. There are many different jobs and a shift is only 4 - 6 hours long. Volunteers are needed on both Saturday, the day the athletes check in, and on race day. Are you an experienced kayaker that would like to provide support during the swim? Would you like to volunteer at a hydration station and cheer on the athletes up close and personal? There are endless opportunities. Have you thought about doing a triathlon and not sure what it’s about? This is a great way to get exposed. If you are a 501c charity organization and provide a minimum of 15 volunteers you may be eligible for a donation to your charity of $15/volunteer/shift. School and other community charity organizations may also qualify for this donation.
