Were You At the 1st Annual Portland Brew Festival this Weekend?

This past weekend was the 1st Annual Portland Beer Festival [Not to be confused with with the ever popular Maine Brewer’s Festival which will mark its 18th Annual Maine Brewer’s Festival on November 4-5, 2011, at the Portland Expo on Park Ave., although very similar] at the Portland Company [located at 58 Fore Street] right on the eastern end of the waterfront. For two days, September 3 &4th, there were three different time slots to choose from to attend.

There were 25+ brewers there with over 75+ beer varieties & there wasn't just beer! If you are a hard cider lover, there were some options for you to try as well. The venue was perfect, right on the ocean. There was even an American flag hanging, that I thought was just perfect.

For about 3 1/2 hours you had the chance to wander and mingle about, tasting whatever beer[s] you felt like. We were given a plastic cup... About the size of a shot glass, but maybe a tad bit bigger. Upon entry, you were also given a "Beer Passport" which had your beloved tickets in them. There were a couple food booths, as well as some beer related product booths, such as LiveME & "Beer-de-Liers"! [Shown below]

It was a great event in a great location. I hope they decide to have a 2nd Annual Portland Beer Festival next Labor Day weekend!
